Runic
The Britannian runic writing is based on the same ancient script as J.R.R. Tolkien's. Both runes are quite similar to the ancient Norse runic. Norse was used by the Vikings. If you look at all the three you'll definitely see some similarities.
Each Norse rune had an alphabetical or symbolic meaning.
In Ultima they represent one or two alphabets.

The Gargoyles have their own alphabets. They are runes like the Britannian Runic.
